Join us on April 17th at 6:00PM for an in-depth presentation on Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) in healthcare environments. This session will explore why robust BC/DR frameworks are critical to maintaining patient care during disruptions, drawing from extensive experience in hospital IT systems.
The presentation will demystify BC/DR concepts within the CIA security model, explaining basic and key terms like RTOs, RPOs, and BIAs while highlighting the differences between business continuity and disaster recovery functions in healthcare settings.
This session will examine the most pressing threats to hospital operations ranging from Cybersecurity, Natural Disasters, and Operational Failures that directly impact patient safety. Through real-world examples, the discussion will demonstrate how inadequate planning can lead to devastating consequences.
Participants will learn practical approaches to BC/DR planning, including conducting effective risk assessments, prioritizing critical functions through business impact analyses, developing comprehensive downtime procedures, and creating resilient backup strategies. The session will also cover how to integrate these plans with established healthcare emergency frameworks like HICS for a more cohesive response.
