Description
Join us on October 19th, 6:30 pm for this talk on Cybersecurity- The Dark Space.

John will bring a unique perspective to the definition of a cybersecurity professional’s role. He has gained valuable insights, knowledge, and methods throughout his career that are not typically taught in computer science programs, boot camps, or through certifications. He is passionate about sharing his learnings and helping others in their journey in cybersecurity. Whether you are just starting out or have years of experience, John’s perspective can provide valuable insights and guidance.
John’s career in retail technology spans over 35+ years, starting at Nordstrom as a COBOL programmer for mainframe computers before the advent of the internet. Throughout his career, he has gained experience in every aspect of technology, including development, project management, analysis, database administration, architecture, infrastructure, desktop and server administration, network administration, cloud computing, and security. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Seattle Pacific University and currently serves as Senior Principal Architect for Lululemon, where he is responsible for developing global security strategies.
In addition to his professional pursuits, John is also an amateur magician and former professional photographer – before digital. He is currently learning to play the piano with the goal of performing Moonlight Sonata in public next year. One quirky fact about John is that he believes prime numbers are evil, and he is always happy to explain why.
