Dan deBeaubien is a 35-year veteran of information technology. He formerly served as the CTO of Michigan Technological University. Since joining The SANS Institute in 2014, he has worked across a diverse range of security and training areas, from Security Awareness to SANS OnDemand, contributing to various product development and training initiatives.
In his current role as the Head of Innovation at the SANS Institute, Dan leads AI research and chairs both the AI policy and product working groups. These groups authored SANS’ AI-related policies and established the AI Resource Center which is charged with prioritizing and implementing AI related projects at SANS. Dan’s team has crafted AI toolsets, AI training models and prototyped a massive cybersecurity AI for SANS. Dan is also the author for SANS AIS247 – AI Security Essentials for business leaders.
