Cybersecurity is one of the fastest growing areas of law in the world, with compliance obligations growing and financial penalties growing even faster. Microsoft legal veteran and Advanced Cyber Law Managing Partner Cristin Flynn Goodwin will talk about current issues in cybersecurity, incident reporting, SEC and
government compliance, and share insights and best practices for leaders to help teams meet legal obligations and incident response and threat intelligence operational needs.

Cristin Flynn Goodwin is one of the few lawyers who is also an industry-recognized leader in cybersecurity, incident response, threat intelligence, government engagement, artificial intelligence, governance, risk management, and policy.

With over 17 years at Microsoft, Cristin Flynn Goodwin was the senior legal expert for every major cybersecurity event, incident, law, policy, or threat at the company, and advised on countless business developments and government engagements. Prior to that, Cristin held both legal and operational cybersecurity roles in major telecommunications companies and started her career as a litigator with an office on the 85th floor of Tower 1 of the World Trade Center.

Starting in 2023, Cristin founded Advanced Cyber Law, a boutique law firm helping clients resolve the most complex business, policy, and operational challenges in cybersecurity, incident response, and threat intelligence. Cristin also set up Advancing Cyber, a regulatory technology firm. She is also consulting with Good Harbor Security Risk Management, a boutique security firm run by former White House Cyber Czar Richard Clarke.

Cristin was appointed in 2023 to the Department of Commerce Internet Security and Privacy Advisory Board and she serves on the Board of Directors of the Seattle Humane Society. She is also a proud mom of two teens, a German Shepherd, and a kitty. They all live in Redmond, Washington.
