October ISSA Monthly Meeting – How to Protect Yourself from the Next Ransomware Outbreak and What Do We Do About the WPA2 Break

Speaker: Jay Beale, CTO, and COO at InGuardians

Thursday, October 19th, 2017, 6:30 PM

Event Summary

NotPetya and WannaCry ravaged their targets, costing nearly a billion dollars in lost revenue. With worms like this running loose, many information security departments have been handed a mandate to take action to avoid widespread compromise and losses. But what actions should they take? This talk will discuss what the next evolution in worms will look like and what we should all do with that mandate.

In addition, Justin White, ISSA Puget Sound President, will lead an analysis of the most recent news and discuss how cyber attackers continue to evolve during his monthly Garden Fresh presentation. In this presentation, we will explore the trends that define today’s threat landscape such as recent cyber attacks, intelligence-led insights, and advanced defensive strategies.
