Description

Join us on May 18th, for our monthly ISSA meeting! Josh Lemos will deliver a presentation on Machines Within, an Introduction to Adversarial Machine Learning.

Mr. Lemos is an information security executive with two decades of experience defending multi-national organizations. He has a background in building and scaling world-class cybersecurity, data science, and engineering teams. Mr. Lemos led Product Security at Square for over two years and now serves as Square’s CISO.  Prior to Square, Mr. Lemos spent 4 years as VP of Security Engineering, Research and Intelligence at Cylance Inc. building ML enabled anti-Malware and endpoint detection and response (EDR) security products. Before joining Cylance he built the security team and program at Service now serving as the Head of Product Security and Federal CISO.

The rise of Machine Learning (ML) has been a powerful and disruptive force in technology. Adversarial machine learning is a field of study that focuses on the development of techniques that can be used to create machine learning models that are robust against attacks from adversaries. This is important because machine learning models are often used in mission-critical applications, such as credit card fraud detection, medical diagnosis, and self-driving cars, where it is important to ensure that the models are not easily fooled by malicious actors. This session will focus on how the AML is changing the threat landscape and how to prepare for the emergence of this powerful adversarial tactic.

This will be a hybrid meeting (both in-person and online). You may attend remotely via Zoom or attend in person. Either way, please register!
