This month’s speaker, Jim Corio, will share his approach to building a security program with open source resources, ingenuity, and a whole lot of elbow grease.

In addition, ISSA Chapter President Justin White will lead an analysis of the most recent news and discuss how cyber attackers continue to evolve during his monthly Garden Fresh presentation. In this presentation, we will explore the trends that define today’s threat landscape such as recent cyber attacks, intelligence-led insights, and advanced defensive strategies.

Speaker

Jim Corio CISSP, CISM and CISA certified with over 30 years experience in IT and has spent the last 20 years working from a security analyst for AT&T Wireless, Sr. Manager at Drugstore.com and building and led the Information Security program at Group Health Cooperative, now part of Kaiser Permanente.  He has a significant background in Vulnerability Management, having deployed the first enterprise wide vulnerability scanning platform at AT&T Wireless in the early 2000s, developed a platform for Application Scanning and Security Training at Drugstore.com and recently leading Vulnerability Management at Kaiser with just over 300,000 managed IPs.  He now focuses on something even more challenging, getting Security a seat at the table with the business. Security is the responsibility of everyone within an organization and working with IT and Business leaders so they understand what that means and helping them champion the message is his current goal.
